Proposed programme · Seeking funding · Delivery has not started

Small steps. Stronger everyday business skills.

A good idea needs practical tools. We propose hands-on learning that helps women understand their costs, keep useful paper records and make better-informed day-to-day decisions.

Price with confidence

Identify materials, time and other costs, then practise setting a reasoned selling price.

Keep simple records

Use a paper cashbook to record money coming in and money going out.

Understand cash flow

Distinguish business cash from household money and plan for upcoming expenses.

Track orders clearly

Keep a practical record of orders, payments and delivery commitments.

Our objectives

01

Know the full cost

Build a usable cost sheet with realistic, clearly explained assumptions.

02

Develop a record-keeping habit

Practise clear paper entries that can support everyday business decisions.

03

Separate money and commitments

Understand the difference between sales, costs, profit and available cash.

04

Apply learning with support

Use individual mentoring and record review to connect learning to practical needs.

Learn together. Practise. Build confidence.

The proposed 16-week programme is designed for 50 participants in five groups. These are planning targets, not confirmed enrolment.

Small-group workshops

Six three-hour workshops per group, with guided examples, discussion and hands-on practice.

Practical paper tools

Cashbooks, cost-sheet templates, stationery and simple calculators — no computer required.

Individual mentoring

One hour of mentoring and a half-hour record review offered to each participant.

Participants have not yet been recruited. Locations, trainers, age eligibility, consent and safeguarding arrangements will be confirmed before recruitment. Activities depend on funding, local needs assessment and delivery readiness.

How we will measure progress

We will look for useful skills and practical evidence, rather than promise an income increase.

Before & after practice

Compare demonstrations of costing, pricing and record-keeping at the start and end.

Usable working records

Review a participant cost sheet and paper cashbook, with voluntary follow-up record review.

Participation & feedback

Record actual attendance and listen to participants about relevance, access and usefulness.

Project stage: This is a new proposal awaiting funding. Implementation has not started and participant places are not currently being confirmed. The programme does not guarantee income, profit or employment outcomes.
